I fell deep into J. D. Horn’s version of Savannah when I read The Line and couldn’t wait to read the other books in that stupendous series. So when I saw the new series, I was ready for more! The Witches of New Orleans series is not quite as spell binding for me... a little too gruesome and too many players to keep track of. Still, this author is a master story teller and yes, I’ll read and enjoy whatever comes next. Of course if you’re reading this, you’ve probably already read The King of Bones and Ashes, and if you’re looking for more of that story, you won’t be disappointed in the least by this book.
I found the story difficult to follow with complicated politics and characters that I really didn't care about. I do admit that I have not read the first book in the series, that might have relieved some of my confusion.
Not going to write a review that spoils the book. Mr. Horn writes stories with characters with all the depth and feel of real people, and I always feel I'm part of the action, having the adventure, however scary, with the protagonist. You've got to read it. I always get the audiobooks because getting my brain scared silly in one medium is just never enough. :-) Great book, great series.
Really enjoy this series! The story has a lot of twists and turns with surprises always around the corner. I love that I can not always predict what is going to happen. Can't wait for the next book in the series!
I cannot wait for book three to come out. This book leaves you wanting more. Love it. Great read and lots to look forward too in three.
super different, reading the whole series and it just gets more interesting!
Title says it all. This installment didn't grab me as much as book number one in the series.
I apologize to readers, however, I have not yet been able to enjoy "The Book of The Unwinding".
