This book is amazing! I am pregnant with my first child and I got this book originally for my husband as part of his first Father's Day gift. However, after reading it, I gave it to MY Father as part of his gift. It starts from the beginning when the daughter is a little baby and is his Daddy's princess, and continues on as she grows up through other stages of life. It ends with the daughter having a daughter of her own, and Granddaddy's princess is born!! Let's just say, the hormones had the tears rolling! Very sweet book! My father loved it and my mother cried as well!!SN: I also love that every page has a bible verse on it. Very nice touch.
I started reading this to my 1 month old daughter, and the story starts out with the newly born daughter. Then I turned the page and the story jumped to the daughter turning 5, and it went down hill from there. The story ends with the daughter getting married and having her own daughter and I just look at MY little princess in the eye and said you better not grow old that fast. It really put a tear in my eye thinking that she isn’t going to stay small forever. The story is a good one to read and keep things in perspective. Your little one isn’t going to be a screaming baby much longer. Cherish the time while you can.
I just received this today as a gift from my 3 yr old daughter (via my wife on this account). Beautiful illustrations and text. The only issue with it is I am incapable of reading it to my daughter without crying like a baby. Hopefully by the 5th or 6th reading I will be able to finish it. So much for my macho image.
We absolutely love the precious story of "Always Daddy's Princess." I bought this as a first Father's Day gift for my husband because he likes reading to our daughter. However, I did deduct two stars for quality. We have MANY board books and yes, we do have a drooly baby, but the pages on this book stick like no other. A few of the pages have stuck so badly that one page eventually pulls the image and writing from the other and we can no longer reader or see what was originally there. I would write it off as baby drool causing the problem, but even after putting it away to try to save it, pages continue to stick and tear. (And this hasn't happened to any of our other similar books.)
I got this for my brother for the baby shower. I made him a gift bag to open there too. I wrote inside of it about the kind of dad i know he will be. I love my brother and this is my first niece and he is 49 years old! Im so flipping excited. I think this book is a nice touch.
Beautiful book! I ordered this book and a couple of others for my husband's birthday to have some special books that he could read to our daughter. The illustrations are gorgeous - vivid colors! The storyline is just precious about a dad loving his daughter as she grows up and goes through each stage of life - prom, moving, wedding, etc. I won't spoil the ending but can promise it will tug at your heart and bring tears to your eyes!
Adorable! I bought as a Father’s Day gift from my girls (newborn and four years old) to their daddy. It’s so precious! I may have been more emotional than the recepient but it’s already a favorite with my four-year-old daughter, especially the page with the wedding. And the artwork is beautiful.
Such a beautiful book. I bought it as a Christmas gift from our 2 year old daughter to my fiance and I wanted to get him a special book that he could read to her. Everytime he begins to read it to her he starts to tear up. I read it before wrapping it up and got very emotional. I liked the Christian scriptures and how they went along with the story on each page. He ikes the book a lot but he said it also makes him sad because he doesn't wasn't to think about our little baby growing up yet.
